Your submissions for the 'PAPER WOLF' series with Miss Marie Elisabeth Edit Challenge !

Eventhou not many of you tended this months 'Edit Challenge' I'm obviously still here to give you some feedback on your submissions. ๐Ÿ˜ I don't know the reason why only two people ended out joining the fun, but as long as there's just one, it's a success to me. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

As you might already know, this months challenge was all about my first meeting and photoshoot with Miss Marie Elisabeth. ๐Ÿ˜

The rules were simple: 'You were all given five free raw-files of mine, from this photoshoot to process the way you felt the most'. ๐Ÿค“๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ”ฅ

So basically you were all given completely opportunities to edit just the way you wanted. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฅณ Nothing is wrong - everything is absolutely right! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Enough talk, let's just head straight into your submissions:

Patreon Supporter Tony / Ciao Bellezza!:

The first submission is a slightly pale and desaturated rendition of my own original. โ˜บ๏ธ

I like the cropping, which pulls the focus on Marie and some sort of simplicity appears to the viewers eyes. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Another bonus of cropping it like this, is that it fits Instagrams aspect a bit more (they do 4:5). ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Can you explain a bit of why you went the desaturated way, Tony? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I only got one minor issue with the cropping and the way the photo is presented here; because you've cut of her lower part of the body, she seems a bit "wider" because you can't see how she is stretching herself. It's a bit too little of a vertical photo in my opinion. ๐Ÿ˜…

As a contrast the the first photo, this second one has got some slightly boosted contrasts. ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป I like the variety and thoughts about that.

It's sun! It's summer! It's outside and there's a lovely breeze going on.

Again, we see how you've cropped the photo a bit and furthermore also brightened the model a bit. On the original she had some harsh and dark shadows on her front, but you've increased the brightness a bit which fits the photo. Well done, Tony. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The skintones on the third photo resembles the ones we saw on the first submission; slightly desaturated and yellow-ish. Definitely not bad - but an interesting choice I would love to hear more about. ๐Ÿค“

I like the way the shadows has been smoothened a bit and the overall contrast been decreased just a liiiiiitle bit. ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿปโ˜บ๏ธ I can't say for sure what technique you've used for skin retouch, but it seems like there has been done something at least. ๐Ÿ˜

Now this one is interested - even if it wasn't intended to begin with or not! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

So, it's obvious that Marie is in color, and the background has been desaturated big time. Maybe on purpose - maybe not? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ But it really makes Marie pop out and steal the focus, you know.

Some might say she's a bit too yellow-ish in the skintones, but I don't mind. To me, it's a perfect example of you been playing around with the sliders to test out what's possible and what's not.

I do miss some slight adjustments with "Liquify" for instance to smoothen out lines and the body here and there. Not too much, just to keep the photo even more calm than it already is. ๐Ÿ˜

The last submission from Tony in this months challenge, is this fine photo from the balcony. โ˜บ๏ธ

Again we see how Tony is pulling in the focus on the model, by hardcropping the photo. He removed the white door in the left side of the photo and turned down the ambiance of the skintones just a nudge. It makes the overall feeling pretty calm yet stays a bit warm and keeps the sense of summer and good times. ๐Ÿ˜โ˜€๏ธ

One thing tho, about the cropping, is when you do so you really have to be careful with even the smallest things stealing the viewers attention. In this example the model has a tiny bright spot in her hair / on the head, and this tiny spot really catches my attention, now that you've hardcropped it and removed everything else going on the photo. ๐Ÿ˜… So I would personally have removed the with the 'Clone Tool' to stay clear of every possible thing ruining the calmness for the eye. โ˜บ๏ธ

GREAT submissions, Tony! Thanks for participating. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Patreon Supporter Quinzin aka Dennis:

A single submission was send by Dennis - but what a submission! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿคฉ

He already told me early on the month, that he wouldn't get the time to do all five submissions, as he's done multiply times over the year, due to the fact it is December and you know.

He only mailed me this one submission, but I really like the mystic he put into it! ๐Ÿ‘€

It's grainy! It's filthy! It's mysterious! It is black and white, but flirting with sepia toning. ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿป

I can't see no skin retouch or anything specific manipulation going on, but I might be wrong? ๐Ÿ˜… Dennis?

It's for sure an interesting take on my photo. Never thought of heading that direction myself - but imagine how the whole series could look like, if I did shoot the series with this specific target in mind. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

THAT WAS IT, FRIENDS! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Thanks for participating in this fun little game. โ˜บ๏ธ There will be many more in the future, so stay tuned, since the raw-files are timed exclusives for PREMIUM*. (*Afterwards they are only available for Tier 3 supporters)

To all of you who wrote me telling that you were worried of others looking at your submissions; Don't be. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค It's super fine to be totally new in the game and just using this as a practice to get better, due to the feedback. That's what this is all about. โ˜บ๏ธ

NEXT CHALLENGE WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY THE 1ST OF JANUARY 2024 and consist of photos from my latest colorful NSFW shoot with Laura Bojanna which by the way came in two parts - HOWEVER, I'm very much looking forward to see how and in which direction you'll take these shots. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿค“

All submissions shall be send to: mikkel.laumann@gmail.com

Now, let me know in a comment what you think about all the wonderful submissions or maybe get inspired to join for the next round! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

Hehe, the resolution is there so go ahead and print it! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Would love to see.

Mikkel Laumann

about my submission, there is absolute no retouch on the skin, I like the concept of "raw" natural skin, but would love to see a shoot with this kind of edit in mind, think it could be amazing, also wouldn't mind saying I would love to get my own edit as some sort of poster hanging on my walls
