“B”. I can’t imagine the jury would get to decide if the treatise were reliable or not. What if the book were about exceptions to irregular verb conjugation of ancient Sanskrit... or, astrophysics...
I think “C” and “D” have got to be wrong.
I also don’t thin “A” is correct.
Basically the question says the witness gave his testimony based “solely” on his own experience. The book really has nothing to do with anything.

A. Not sure I can cite why, precisely. Passages from the book may be entered into evidence, but it would be impractical to trust 12-14 jurors to read and understand a book. Furthermore -- it could be considered "research", which jurors are not permitted to engage in.
