(AD FREE) Making Spindles for a RACE CAR!

The Formula SAE team I was a part of back in college was in need of some help, so I was more than happy to oblige! They've entrusted me with making their front wheel spindles.

2023-01-03 21:03:22 +0000 UTCI know that pain. Our team had a lot of trouble just getting going just because UK doesn't have a student shop either. We ended up befriending the manager of the College of Agriculture research machine shop or we wouldn't have had a car at all. Great guy

2022-12-23 01:25:27 +0000 UTCI'm actually in my college's SAE Baja team (Grove City College) right now, and I will say that having the head of the campus machine shop (where I also work as a TA) happen to be an alum of ours does make everything work out a lot better for us as a team.

We had a slighly unfortunate event where our spindle broke in testing about a week before competition, so we had to make new ones. The only difference was that we used 7 series aluminium, and it wasn't anywhere near as good haha What a great way to start a day by seeing a new video from you, Brandon.
