170 - Who is the J Man and Why is He Unhappy?

I suppose we also could have called this episode "How Close is Close Enough, and How Does That Change in Different Contexts, and Do People Get too Nitpicky About Things, or is How You Do Things on Small Stuff Reflective of How You'll Do Things On Big Stuff and That's Why You Should Be Thoughtful About Small Stuff, or Is That Just How Old People Think."

Ultimately, we decided that was too many words and just went with what you see above.

We appreciate you. And we made stickers for you. They're coming soon.

When I heard that the Jman was smiling when confronted, I knew exactly what was coming and I started to cry like a baby. I might be missing that kind of recognition in my own life. Or just someone who will tell me with a grandfatherly voice, that it was all just a test and from now on, life will be nice and make sense. But my life is not nice and does not make sense. Therefore I am very grateful to have you to listen to, because it is nice and makes sense. Except that Testicles bit. That is totally silly and I am thoroughly looking forward to it =)

I saw the same post in my scrolling as well. First thing I thought was that if they would've used a non digital level the bubble would've looked level.

I haven’t heard the episode yet as I just woke up to this message, but my uncle usually calls me “J Man” so I’m a bit excited to hear why I’m unhappy!

What about time versus quality, sometimes you can’t have both. I was a flooring contractor, there are minimum industry standards. Of course could just do the minimum but that’s a terrible attitude, but also when you have one day to do a job you have to pick where your effort goes. When flooring it was the setup as bad start meant a crooked finish, and hand cut finishing joins, like mitres and nosing. Like Kenny said: “You've got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'em Know when to walk away And know when to run” That was a song about the quality triangle, right?
