I got a peek behind Jordan's second persona curtain in the late '90s. My dad worked at a hospital and one of the doctors he was friends with paid the crazy money to go to camp Jordan. He said the first day Jordan called out a couple guys to go one-on-one, and he was one of them. He said at the three-point line Jordan backed off a couple steps and told him to 'show him what he had' but instead of trying to drive to the hoop he just took the jump shot and ended up switching a three-pointer over Jordan's head. He said Jordan didn't talk to him and treated him like garbage for the rest of the camp. But that dude will always be able to say he sunk a three-pointer over Jordan's head. Ever since then, I've pictured Jordan through the lens of that doctor's story, as highly successful but spiteful person. I could totally believe that he's not a happy person.
