Matt, as someone who grew up in Colorado have you heard about Proposition 112 for this years election and what is your opinion on the topic? The opposition ads are saying lots potential job and economic loss, but at the same time the increased regulation on fracking allows residents to have the secured freedom from potential hazards.

Hey Destin (and Matt too, I guess), if you haven’t already, go get “Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies” by Andrew Peterson and some other guy. Play it for your kids - it’s one of my favourite kids’ albums.

Matt...if you have to travel to England to see MUSE live...travel to England! Easily one of my top 5 favorite live shows and top 3 favorite bands of all time. (And if you can’t travel to England, at least check out their “2nd Law” live DVD) 😏👍👍

Destin have you read Andrew Peterson’s Books? If yes, your boat’s name would be even funnier. “Gnag the Nameless” is the main Antagonist.

I just recently listened that episode and as a music producer I feel the need to try and explain why I think that guitars do still exists. There are tons of software that use guitar samples to recreate the sound of it but I think that the major challenge is that is the control surface. We typically use a piano like MIDI controller to play software instruments and that works really well for piano and other keyboard instruments as well as synths and even orchestras and so on but for guitars doesn’t quite work, you don’t have “the feel” of it and with a simple keyboard you cannot be as expressive as a real guitar. I think that the problem is that in order to play a software guitar like a real guitar there should be a controller so close to a real one that it would make no sense when you can use an actual guitar. We do use software to process the clean signal of a guitar and emulate different amps and guitar FX but it has a purpose, all that gear can get really expensive and it’s way easier and cheaper to have it all on a computer.

I think I found the answer to your question Destin, or at least a response. It's about procreation... https://youtu.be/IUlRavyDP6o Mike Rowe The Way I Heard It - ep 38 - scooped your graham cracker story complete with childish giggling.

I giggled like a schoolgirl every time the "Possum Update" stinger played. You guys know right where my funny bone is. Still my favorite podcast. Potentially favorite episode too!

I don't think those beeps were bleeping. I think they were just linking segments.

Hey Matt & Destin, I read this article right after listening to you all talk about the History Nugget announcement. Too awesome of a expertise combination to not pass on: https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/tipu-sultan-mysore-rockets Sounds like an incredible moment in history and I want to know all about these rockets and how they worked.

Was really expecting a Tobe Nwigwe shoutout from Destin in the music discussion.

you two crack me up!! Looking for an opossum and find a cat in a downspout...what next!! On a different note - this Andrew Peterson song broke me a few years ago when my wife and I were going through some pretty difficult stuff...https://youtu.be/_Gs3fg_WsEg

Great episode gentlemen. Now, Matt... Never, I mean never, apologize for getting a little bent over someone asking why the guitar is still around. If there is ever a time to fight among friends that's it. Full stop. :)

Lots of bleeping in that opossum hunt.. just as I would imagine it would be. Also as a side note, our local minor league baseball team has a opossum mascot. His name is O'tey. (pronounced... O-Tay) https://twitter.com/artravs/status/493879032182607874
