Here's the New One!

We get pretty deep into three very interesting topics on this one, including something genuinely redemptive.

Also, patrons, please see the patrons-only post above that includes the sequence we ultimately decided to pull from the final public-consumption version of this episode.

We appreciate you!

It appears "How to Think" is not available in the Australasian audible store :(

The decision on gatekeepers got me thinking. Are we better off now? Atleast with online video. When it comes to online video, we pretty much have one gatekeeper. Youtube. You can post video on other platforms. But if you want views, you need to be on youtube. But if you want views on making ammo, lets say. You can't post that to youtube. It's an interesting thing I think. Youtube has made himself a monopoly by funneling money from Alphabet (aka google) into youtube. Nobody can sustain what youtube does. No one has those kinds of funds. So what seems to be happening, at least from my perspective, is that larger channels are making there own system. Basically hosting there own videos outside of youtube. In an attempt to either circumvent censorship, or just to get away from youtube's instability. Is this the beginning of the end to openly made video content? Will we start to go back to the point where you need a ton of money and resources to not only get you video content out there in front of people, but to host it yourself? Are we bring back the gatekeepers? Probably not. But it will be interesting to see what the future of online video looks like. P.S. Sorry for the tangent. This stuff is important to me. :)

Question (or maybe a topic idea for a future episode): I've noticed that both of you are really interested in pouring into the lives of other people. Is this something that you seem to be innately wired for as a personality trait, or is this something that you've worked on & cultivated over time?

I currently attend a small Christian school and we give out the Timothy Award to graduating seniors. We also give an award to every 8th grader likening them to a character in the New Testament.
