Update on filming
Added 2021-11-02 03:51:28 +0000 UTCHello, lovely Patrons!
Just wanted to give you all a rundown on how the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen video is coming.
This past month has been rough, and as much as I feel like I know the comic I’m talking about backwards and forwards, I still feel overwhelmed by how much there is to talk about with this series. From the post colonial reading that could easily be applied, to the way it comments on the nature of crossovers. And I know that I promised this would be a casual video, but I still feel the urge to make this video into the best possible version of itself it can be.
Tonight I filmed a bit - mostly giving background on the comic and recapping the first two volumes - and tomorrow I’m going to film a bit more.
But I won’t lie - my mental state hasn’t been spectacular lately. I am going to therapy regularly and taking my meds, but I’m still trying to find a balance between self care and working on the next video.
But I am working. And be assured that I plan on having this video finished by the end of this month, ready to premiere on YouTube so we can all have a laugh at Antichrist Harry Potter and such.
I just hope I can assuage the oncoming storm of Alan Moore fanboys this video will be sure to attract.
Filming will definitely be finished by the end of this week, and I’ll be editing with work streams again soon after.
Thank you all for your patience and support. Without exaggeration, I couldn’t do what I do without you.

2021-11-02 10:47:05 +0000 UTCTake your time, Kyle. Please. It's no real surprise that a video analyzing a famously prolix author's summing up of the entirety of literature would prove daunting, and even were that not the case, your own mental health should take priority over whatever you think you 'owe' us. I'm happy to wait for a video you feel good about - both its outcome and the effort it took to get there - and I doubt I'm alone in that. If anything, that's one of the perks of Patreon; we can support you even when you're less productive. Take your time and find the balance that works for you.
