My New Year’s Resolution
Added 2020-12-31 17:28:58 +0000 UTCI showed my fiancé Jodie the latest draft of my script breaking down Starship Troopers. It is now over 40 pages long, includes over seven hours of interview footage, incorporates the entire filmography of Paul Verhoeven, as well as American war films, sci fi action comedies, Dutch comedies as well as home video footage. It breaks down Heinlein, Verhoeven, and also has a hefty dose of autobiography.
Jodie’s response to reading it was, “Kyle, this is a documentary.”
Well, it looks like I’m making a documentary.
This is one of those projects where I kept finding inspiration after inspiration while writing it, and it ballooned into something big. I want this video (or videos, as it may end up being) to be the best version of itself that it can possibly be, so I may end up releasing it gradually.
One thing I will promise is that once I shoot my video segments, I’m going to start streaming my work for patrons at the Unicorn level. If you’re supporting me that much during this insane time, you deserve to know more.
That was a Starship Troopers reference.

The video has been fully shot and recorded, though the editing process is going to be very long. Another month? Maybe two? Soon, hopefully.
