Oops I dropped a few oysters

I've been on such a variety of writing stints that I apologize i forgot to post the last three scripts for May the Oysters Grieve!

Will do that now.

On an unrelated note, I love the TV show Leverage, and just saw there's going to be a third season of Leverage: Redemption (the reunion show) coming!

Just as I cancel my Amazon Prime.

Of course.

But I also found that there's a version of Leverage that was made in Korea, and I bought the DVDs online, and it's interesting. (possible mild spoilers)

Right off the bat, instead of being "big name" criminals, like the internationally infamous ("you're THE Parker?") characters in the original, the characters in K Leverage are very good, but more local. They also have a less comedy more drama approach to the story, so far, which is not bad at all, though i love the light-hearted feel of the original and redemption.

Why do I mention this? It's all about writing, really. And the way things change when adapted. If you know the original show, the "mastermind" Nate was a straight shooter, an insurance agent who caught or at least thwarted international thieves and grifters all his career, and only turned to a life of crime (in episode 1 - sorry, some background spoilers) because of the death of his child, his resulting divorce and descent into alcoholism, and a chance to get back at the insurance company that refused to cover a treatment that might have saved his son's life.

As I watched the opening of K Leverage, I realized - well, duh, they can't blame his kid's death on america's crappy money grubbing health care industry, can they?

And they did a clever thing - they made it happen NOW, instead of in the back story. He is talked into doing a crime for a chance to save his son's life, and then things go wrong. Makes it WAY more believable, more relatable, and very tear-worthy.

Any time an event - particularly a character-motivation-altering event can happen in real time, on screen, instead of neatly tucked in a back story, it's definitely worth considering.

Applause. I'll keep watching.
