So yesterday, Traci's sister Mindy took me to the local library to scan in my Mink pages. They had a nice, big scanner in the Makerspace, so I thought I was sorted.
But the software operating the scanner wouldn't open, so that was no good. Next, we tried the library's big printer. But the controls were so complex and counter-intuitive, it became a long, frustrating slog. The files finally obtained could not be downloaded to my thumb drive, for some inexplicable reason. So they were e-mailed to me.
....But all 3 pages were in one bundle, inseparable. At least with the software available to me. My Photoshop CS3 wouldn't work without a Java patch. I downloaded that. Now it said, lemme see, "Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time".
I couldn't renew my Creative Cloud Photoshop either - seems I must update my OS first, and for some reason that wasn't possible either. Trying to buy Photoshop outright from Adobe sent me to a blank page. Just didn't want to talk to me at all, not even a "fuck you, poorboy!" It seems Enshittification is picking up the pace.
But Mindy had Adobe Workspace, or something like that, at her workplace. So I downloaded Photoshop onto her computer, and commenced to chop the file from the library into 3 separate pages. I managed to do that, but turns out that they were scanned in grayscale, and so covered in cruft from the pencils. I simply had not the time to clean it all up. Eeesh. Computers don't LIKE us, I swear.
But here's a sample from what I've been talking about, just as proof that I haven't been sitting around and playing with myself all this time. You'll get the proper posts once I'm back home with access to my creaky, but functional graphics set-up, OK?
