The To-do List, part 21.

Those flexible face-masks really help to humanize a golem. In less positive news, Patreon tells me:

"We're required to use Apple's in-app purchase system in order to remain available in the App Store. As a result of Apple's policies, all creators are required to switch to Patreon's subscription billing model. You're currently a per-creation billing creator, which means that you have until November 2025 to switch to subscription billing. Apple's requirements begin rolling out at the beginning of November which means that beginning next month, your new fans won't be able to become paid members in the iOS app and they'll have to sign up on other platforms. "

I'm fine with people signing up from other platforms. I believe that Patreon is making a serious mistake in forcing all their creators to switch to per-month billing. Giving in to Apple's unreasonable demands just makes 'em even more arrogant & demanding. I'll keep my per-post billing for as long as I can.

Oh! I'd heard the opposite, that almost all phones are Apple. I'd be happy for them to be wronge!

Asking a... creature who is essentially a constructed slave what she wants to do is a great way to strengthen ties. I've despised Apple since the 1980s when they were suing people who wrote software that ran on their hardware. That was Steve Job's doing then, not Wozniak's. While I owned a Mac for a few years (a friend gave it to me when he upgraded) I never even plugged it in so I recycled it...

Shouldn't she stick with the Mink as her bodyguard?

90% of the watchs aee apple, I ask people and almost always apple.

A Patreon of the Ahts

No, Android devices are the vast majority of ones used.

Kenneth Chisholm

Would be nice if they told Apple to get fucked, but like 90% of phones are apple, so nobody has the power to stand up to their monopoly.

David Noneya

It's a crying shame that Patreon doesn't have the stones to say "OK iThing users, time to switch to using Safari rather than the app - we are discontinuing the iOS app." But, Patreon has repeatedly demonstrated they are entirely stones-free.

Skunkupine

Is that the first time she has shown a preference?

Garry Stahl

They have their own issues, but more dealable with. Linux roots are good but Android is insecure. I run a Linux desktop BTW. Plays nice with my various Android mobiles.

Garry Stahl

Yep Apple is over priced crap. My loathing goes back to tying to deal with a Classic Mac.

Garry Stahl

Yes, Apple: overpriced and overrated.

Kenneth Chisholm

Never did like Apple. Their phones are outdated upon release, require only Apple brand specific hardware that they are constantly changing to force the sale of replacements to go with their janky phones and only sell well due to clout chasers.

Sleepy Dave

All the more reason why I prefer Android.
