It helped that once the Faltown officials were informed they'd stood aside and let a supervillain attack on the most popular girl in town, the Faltown Angel, happen - they were very embarrassed and eager to make up for their mistake.

Interesting. A mansion. If I see lots of Max-hired servants waiting on Mink hand and foot I will suspect that, intentionally or not, he's going to attempt the "spoil her rotten" plan the cabal was creating before that one jackass tried the first kidnapping attempt.
