All the Little Witches, part 199.

To make it clear, Mink cast an invisibility glamour on Hardee, and a Hardee glamour on Steve.

And that's just the beginning when you factor in psionics, divine magic/power, magic-tech, outright alternative sciences/physics like steampunk and such. I'm all for comparison, analogy, and metaphor to get points across but sometimes it really does just have to be finished at 'it's magic'. ;D Loved the point made in The Flight of Dragons. Magic inspires, more than half of technology wouldn't have developed the way it did without magic giving someone the idea and thus a goal to aim for in technology. Get rid of magic culturally and science will also stagnate.

Agreed. I am an avid fan of 'hard magic', but at some point science has to look at magic and go "this makes no sense to me". If that doesn't happen, then the line between magic and science isn't blurry anymore, it's just plain gone.

I'd hate to ruin the nature of magic by over-examining it.

That one quote on magic has lead to more arguments in D&D sessions than just about anything else I've encountered over the years. ^^; I like my magic and science kept separate. ;3 Though Karno's doing a phenomenal job thus far in letting it blend gently together, such as Mink being able to cast a lightning bolt but needing to access the power grid for the energy, or being able to heal wounds but needing the body she's healing to be at least healthy enough to endure the change and have enough actual materials in it to make it happen. ^^

In a world with "metas", Doc's skepticism on calling Mink's ability "magic" is not unreasonable.
