It's assurance that nothing important goes where it's not supposed to and the same for personal stuff. So I'd guess that in addition to the cops, there's DA staff going through Skertur's home office to retrieve what he signed out (and might not have but took anyway) as well as vetting his workplace office the same way. It's the disputed items that make things interesting.
