You know in the movies where the hero can avoid the effects of an explosion by running away from it, often as not in slow motion? That doesn't work in real life.

The funny thing? If I remember it right, this comic is older than the cliche of slowly walking away from an explosion. I'm not saying it hadn't been done at the time, but it wasn't such a cliche yet. You know, that could be kind of interesting. Have a movie wrapped up, get a last big explosion and have a main character killed by debris just before fading to black. What you could do with that depending on the story. You could even sequel bait without sequel bait. Like let the sequel start with showing how the survivors coped without the dead main character. The possibilities...

To the hero, it just feels like slow motion -- and it's a more dramatic visual. But then movies gloss over a lot of details.
