Huh - I'm sitting by my desk in a bathrobe, too. 'Cause the instructions from Tucson Gastro said I hadda finish my modest lil' breakfast by 9 AM. Then it's a liquid diet for the rest of the day. Because tomorrow, I have a camera shoved up me, and they want a clear view of my insides.

I'm following instructions to the letter, because I really don't want to have to do this again anytime soon. Not only because of the discomfort and indignity, but because of the cost. The cost of healthcare in the USA is insane. I can't believe there are politicians running on the platform of repealing that weak half-measure, Obamacare: "Vote for me, and I'll make sure you won't even have the HOPE of being able to afford medical care! You stupid poor people will die in the gutter if you get sick, just as God intended!"

A mafia hitman, thinking of having to develop morals for a dimension, the irony is almost palpable.

I'm one of those poor sods having to use Obamacare, and I am VERY thankful for it. Last time I was unemployed my medications alone took more than $100 a month (and this is for GENERICS) and was in 2003, so before the recent increases even in the least expensive of medications. Had I not had a costco membership at the time they would have cost even MORE. And that's just the medications. Doctor visits cost a minimum of $25 for a routine visit and I didn't even want to think what would have happened if I had to go into the hospital. And as to the process you are about to go for, I was scheduled for one of those last month, but the facility where it was to be done at didn't accept the california brand of obamacare for paying for it... so I opted out for this round. (And was HAPPY to opt out, I tell you... and they only told me a day before I would have started 'the purge'... glad it was before, not during!! Yikes!) So, for me, I LIKE most of the things I, as an unemployed (and been Job Hunting consistantly) since Oct of last year, get from 'Obamacare' and I do NOT look forward to what will happen when/if it gets repealed.... if I haven't managed to get a new job. Shesh. Hang in there and thanks for the Program Switch! Don't let our hero get those morals running to severely.... that would majorly backfire. :)

Ugh, COBRA. I'm sorry. :(

And, he continues to develop his pseudo godhood. Healthcare, yeah. I was involuntarily retired last month, and while I have a severance stipend for a few months, I have to wrestle the COBRA for insurance.
