For some reason, I'm reminded of the line from National Lampoon's "Foreigners Around the World" article: "The Poles did not discover sexual intercourse until the 15th century, having previously reproduced by raiding warthog litters".
But yes, the mischief you could get into with sex as a "new invention" would be mind-boggling.
