August 2025 Updates

Even though it feels like 120 degrees in our studio right now, we're going to tough it out to discuss this weird movie. In addition to that, we're in the early planning for another director ranking video. This time it's for Joe Dante, director of the the greatest movie ever made Gremlins 2! There's been so many of his movies that people have been suggested a ton that we should do on re:View like The Burbs and Innerspace, so we though it would be appropriate to just cover them all. It may take a while to get through everything, but it's in the works.

Will we get a HITB on War of the Worlds? It’s genuinely so bad it’s good material. Probably should be on BOTW honestly.

2025-08-16 21:58:24 +0000 UTCBe nice to see Dante's "Explorers" get a nod - I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who liked the third act... I mean, I know the studio screwed him on finishing the film, but it's still a really great little film with still great special effects. Also, I hope the guys acknowledge the *enormous* part Jerry Goldsmith's scores played in so many Dante films. He did some of his best work on those - Gremlins, Explorers, Innerspace, Small Soldiers etc. All really great stuff and the movies would not be same without.
