at this point in my journey in blender its kind of rare to have a major discovery. Vertex coloring is something ive known about for a while, but in the last couple weeks teaching myself texture painting i had a moment where i realized its actual potential. ill make a video breaking down all the new texturing stuff ive been working on, and i have a lil texture pack download im getting ready for yall as well!

something you can do with hair textures sometimes is just leave a little alpha at the bottom, then use planes and have the root come from where the hair roots would be. use a color ramp inbetween the image texture and shader to control the edges a little more.
for modeling just fiddle around with 1 plane at a time, it should take at least 5 or 6 total planes to get a full head of hair like this. was just messing around with this technique for a new npc ty...

theres a million ways to use the camera, heres some basics that i feel a lot of people miss when starting out.
the biggest take away here, is that less is more! With control comes complexity. same with modeling and anything else, study the basics and then the more advanced stuff will come naturally.

modeled a new character from that guide in the moodboard and one thing led to another now im making this scene
gonna break this down in a tutorial type video just explaining whats going on cause i used a lot of different things that i havent really covered before on for this one shot.
super high poly face compared to what im used to! shape keying the expressions was incredibly satisfying though, im gonna do so much more with this lil base mode :)

gonna work on the cloth a little more, morgots drip has a little bit more of a crumpled look and some rope around the neck. also gotta maybe rig them so they swing around!
i was tryna figure out how to not make the sword clip into the hat, but thats straight up how it is in the game lmao i always love how fromsoft just doesnt care about stuff clipping at all

to use, navigate here in your files vvvv
%APPDATA%\Blender Foundation\Blender\[YOUR VERSION]\scripts\presets\interface_theme\
then drop the XML file in that folder, and it should show up in the presets menu.
unfortunately i cant include the font on here since i paid for it, but it should be easy to find a good pixel style font! you can change blenders font in the preferences as well, its not in themes tho you scroll down to "file paths" and do it at the top of ...

here are the models of those weapons i made the other day, im still in the process of texturing them but feel free to check these out and use them for whatever!
for the hammer, i rendered the front, top, side with compositing on (make sure to hit that viewport composy) , and projected that back onto the original mesh.
apologies the file itself is a little messy, but yeah try tinkering around with the composite nodes!

just discovered a huge time saver
the title says it all lol, using spacebar while having the color picker out will pick that color but you will stay in color pick mode. meaning you can just spam the spacebar while moving the mouse around to test a bunch of colors!
cannot wait to use this for lighting and stuff
also a tiny bit of tech in here about making water drop effect w wave modifier
