You can't deconstruct the slasher movie genre the way IAVN does it... there is nothing there to deconstruct. If you deconstruct it, you automatically break it.

I like that Jay said it was an "experience", if i saw it in a museum about horror i might be like.. oh hey! thats artsy and cool! but as a film it doesnt really hold up for me, it get a lot of praise for having no music and or sound effects, and just using the raw audio of the forrest, but OH BROTHER it feels very lack of.. "swag" as stupid as that sounds LOL

2024-10-24 07:15:34 +0000 UTCI’m starting to think I’m the only person on earth who thinks the last 20 minutes of In A Violent Nature is the best part of the whole movie. Like I fully expected them to do what Mike wanted them to do (which… I love you Mike but jesus christ) but instead we’re just left to sit with our final girl while this lady rambles on, always looking back at the trees, seeing shapes in the branches. And then it just ends, with this kind of open ended feeling of dread. IMO they shouldn’t have even shown that the necklace was gone from the gas can.
