It's a story of the town of Springwood, OH where Freddy slowly picks off the young population of the town over many years. Freddy's evil presence can't leave the town (due to a magical barrier) and the adults try to keep the murders and the legend of him suppressed to keep his powers weak. But each High School class keeps stirring things up again...
