i'm not sure Mike and Rich are as intimately familiar with DS9 as they are TNG but I would like to see them discuss some episodes from that. Also interested in what their opinions on ENT are, I like it for the most part but I know it's controversial within the wider fan base.

I rewatched the Picard S3 first episode again, and - wow! - are the Raffi scenes terrible. Really, really terrible in a very nuTrek way. Why the hell did they keep her character in this season at all??? She definitely drags the episode down everytime she's on screen. They should've dumped her like the rest of the previous 'Picard' cast. And it was so dumb that Dr. Crusher used such an incredibly obtuse way to contact Picard. That he got her message at all is practically a miracle. Lucky Picard still had his old com badge nearby and it still worked. Lucky Picard remembered a decades-old password. Lucky Riker wasn't on the pizza baking planet with Troi and instead was on Earth getting drunk with Picard and he knew about the secret Borg +3 code, without which her message is useless. Such convenient coincidences where everything magically lines up that's so typical of nuTrek bad writing. But, aside from that, the rest of the episode was fairly good and entertaining, so I really hope that this was the weakest episode of the season and the season gets better from here on out.
