Just watched episode 5… the wheels are going to come off. A dozen or so scenes end with a cliffhanger with cliche sting. People doing really stupid things. So many questions raised and almost no answers. I don’t how much of this I can stomach before I 🤮. Good luck Mike and Rich, you’re going to need it.

It sounded like his voice to me, too.

I kinda figure Raffi likes Elnor so much because she sees him as a surrogate son, since her own son doesn't talk to her anymore..?

Wash your mouth out! Why would you ask them to stop sharing their miserable brilliance when their sadness brings us such joy?

well, the RLM comments are not for star trek's sake at this point, but for them to vent and for us to laugh. I really enjoy all their "new trek" content, so that I can share my pain :./

I know the boys at RLM won't read my comment, but in my opinion, they don't need to review star trek anymore. It's just a pile of garbage and they are giving money and viewership to the Frankenstein's monster that is Star Trek. Cutting pieces of its corpse off to make new shows.

Classic Trek could have also made good use of gritty characters with substance abuse problems. If they did storylines that span multiple 26 episode seasons maybe they would have the time to introduce a character who just appears to be a minor named lackey. Then over time they grow in importance to eventually have major political power. They might turn to drinking to deal with the stress and disillusionment. Then this character could reach some sort of breaking point and be forced to turn to the people they once hated for help. That might be an interesting character.

I bet he’s paid well enough to deal with the moral issues his current position involves 😅

I feel like Classic Trek could’ve done something interesting with the “fascist Federation” premise. Like, what if the Federation were invaded by some kind of hostile, nigh-undetectable shapeshifting species, a la “The Thing,” making the enforcement of “blood purity” policies and the rescinding of civil liberties actually make some form of sense? Our characters’ morals would be tested when they’re put into situations where their previous worldviews on how a just society operates seem to be irrelevant here. They would have to use communication and diplomacy to understand how this Earth society justifies its actions, as well as the motivations guiding the invading species, and attempt to find a resolution. You could have some intense, gritty violence that actually makes sense, and a suspenseful mystery to boot. (Is so and so really who they say they are?) Then we could get into a really interesting ethical debate about why fascism is STILL wrong, even when it seems more justified by the circumstances than ever. Could’ve been something powerful. …Oh well!

And do we forget that Raffi is the same person who essentially abandoned her son? Though, now she's rebuking Picard for things he couldn't control? And what does she mean 'promising' that Picard doesn't understand what she's feeling? I seem to recall Picard losing some fairly close friends/family? Also, was that Brent Spiner's voice saying "A safe galaxy is a human galaxy"?

Damn, and it keeps getting worse! Episode 4 felt like an hour long speech about every issue the writers feel are currently problematic in society... I don't recall if any solutions were suggested, but they at least seemed content to identify everything that's wrong!

Fantastic episode, you’re right on the money. This show really doesn’t feel like a show- it just feels like content. Brand assets x, y, and z are present and it lasts the expected length. Poor Wil Wheaton. Those close-ups are brutal. 😂

I think of this as a "Titanic Show" because we know this whole thing is heading directly for an iceberg but there's no way to stop it.

I really liked Wil Wheaton's TableTop series that he did for Geek and Sundry on Youtube. It helped get me back into board games. But damn, it is so pathetic seeing him on the behind the scenes show.
It is like Kevin Smith when Suicide Squad (first one) came out. He did this pre-show where he was fanboying out over all the various props and how awesome the movie was. Without getting crass, Kevin's reaction was the equivalent of Rich Evans from RLM's video "Rich Evans Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Reaction."

I guess I am the only one enjoying S2. I think it’s way better than season 1.
Mike and Rich are funny AF but let’s be honest: they are deathly allergic to joy. Nothing can penetrate their cynicism force field. Everything sucks etc. Even Ragnarok HITB was a diatribe on bad movie going experience. No pleasing them.
