Twin Peaks: The Return - re:View (Part 1)

Twin Peaks: The Return - re:View (Part 1)

Just saw that sad news, damn ….very unfortunate that in a cinematic climate of redundancy, reboots, and a lack of original ideas we lose one of the most original unique and thought provoking voices to have graced the silver screen and television screens …. Rest in peace Mr lynch you will be missed

Ryan Freedman

loved this, can't wait for part 2. More re:View plz!

Birtles

Have been waiting for this re:View for a while and seems like it was well worth the wait, glad you guys are taking your time and can't wait for the rest, hoping for at least a 3-parter! ;) Thank You and Happy New Year!

JTruts

Oh, and RIP Robert Forster. I forgot he was in The Return.

rachel

BEST Christmas gift RLM could give. Thanks

John R

Dougie being a decoy Bob created to dodge getting pulled back in was something I totally missed.

Robert Daniel Pickard

Yup, January 19, 2017 of throat cancer.

AllGoodNamesRGone

RIP Harry Dean Stanton. RIP Peggy Lipton. RIP Miguel Ferrer. And RIP Bob.

rachel

I haven't really watched any Twin Peaks anything, but just from this video, it looks like a cross between John Waters and Wes Anderson.

Vorevids.com

Miguel Ferrer died?!

Katy

That was awesome fellas. Please don’t end this discussion on two episodes. I could watch two more easily.

Mike St Louis

RLM's content made this year so much more bearable. TNG and TP in the same year? An embarrassment of riches, thank you guys!

interlinked Media

Excellent! Looking forward to this so much!

Mike St Louis

Always love to see Jay and Josh re:views, really gives them a chance to shine and talk more genuinely about films and weird stuff. looking forward to part 2!

James is cool. James has always been cool.

Christmas was sort of a downer for us, what with losing my dad earlier this year, and the ongoing nightmare that is living in America. This really helped to cheer me up, thank you. πŸ’œ Also, hard agree re. that 4-hour 'explanation' of Twin Peaks. The guy was really reaching with some of that stuff. Like yes, TP does some meta-commentary on the medium of TV but he doesn't really say anything about Laura Palmer or how she was seemingly the glue holding that town together; the emotional core of the story is all about her. That's why in the Return, the town is all out of whack and sliding into darkness. The 'light' has gone out.

Jay, the edit looks great. Way to channel Dougie. I wish we could all be a bit more like Dougie Jones.

Kendi Lawton

Try watching season 2 episodes when Windom Earl comes into the story. I know alot of season 2 is silly but the ending is amazing.

Kendi Lawton

I wish I could watch this and enjoy it, but I was never able to get through the original series' season two. Should I go back and try to watch it again? I just remember hating every second of it until I finally turned it off. And obviously watching the new Twin Peaks wouldn't exactly be worthwhile without having watched the original series to completion.

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

Loving this, but Jay/Josh, have you not seen Hal Ashby's 'Being There'? ...Dougie.

Odile Walsh

Another undercurrent in The Return is innocence and the lack thereof. -- Love, how the set in the ending credits seem to subtly point to Laura Palmer, who seems to be not much more than a forgotten picture in the background of the minds of the people in Twin Peaks. And I want to see more Jay Bauman directed works, like Pork Pork in Space.

Marvin Falz

This reminds me of an episode of Star Trek.

Amy Hitchner

Well, I'm glad I wasn't one of the many who asked about that four hour youtube video about Twin Peaks although I thought about asking about it. Thanks for addressing that right off the top, Jay. Good stuff.

AllGoodNamesRGone

Loved this, needed this. Thank you for this and RLM generally getting me through 2020. Can’t wait for the next part!

George Grimwood

Eh, I'll pass on this one...

Manuel Johnen

This was great, really makes me want to rewatch. Can’t wait for part 2!

Dave Conte

Agree. WW84 was a rough ride.

Shawn MacDonald

I need some Jay and Josh appreciation of non-traditional art the day after watching WW84.

Best Christmas present ever πŸ™
