a) Funny, subtle insertion of a Star Trek reference (the newspaper with a headline including Mr. Spock); b) the Hungry Heifer is a restaurant in Cheers, first mentioned in 1984. The internet doesn't reveal if there is a connection between Critters 2 and Cheers.

I never ever watched a Critters movie. I saw them at the video store but there was a vote held and I always lost.

I too watched Critters as a kid approximately 5000 times. Then my brain blocked it so this Re:View was like a first view until I saw the bounty hunters and then "ohhhh! now I remember!"

So glad you guys reviewed these. The first two are such gems that have been totally forgotten. Surprised you didn't mention David Newman's fantastic score to the first film, which is something I never appreciated as a kid, but really plays a big part in gluing the whole movie together. There's something about a score that takes itself entirely seriously being attached to a movie that really doesn't that's just really fun. They clearly got a full orchestra together for it.

Love Critters so much. And have a deep-rooted unease about people dressed as the Easter Bunny due to Critters 2. By the way Scott Grimes has had pretty steady TV (and occasional film) work since Band of Brothers, which he's brilliant in!

An 80's classic, with it's 3rd installment giving birth to Leo DiCaprio's film career. Thank you, Critters.
