It also seems to be based on producing a bunch of weird special rules for the question (pushing the fat guy will stop the trolley) that don't at all apply in real life (if you really push a person in front of a train, it isn't possible to know whether their mass will stop the train, you are likely to miss positioning them exactly on the tracks, you know that the body mass of the other people on the tracks won't stop the train before it hits all 5 of them, etc) to isolate the moral question...but the result is a weird "yes, if all those things that couldn't possibly be true were true, I'd push the fat guy" answer that doesn't imply someone would act in a seemingly immoral way in an actual situation.
