Just before the destruction of the planet Krypton, scientist Jor-El (Marlon Brando) sends his infant son Kal-El on a spaceship to Earth. Raised by kindly farmers Jonathan (Glenn Ford) and Martha Kent (Phyllis Thaxter), young Clark (Christopher Reeve) discovers the source of his superhuman powers and moves to Metropolis to fight evil. As Superman, he battles the villainous Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman), while, as novice reporter Clark Kent, he attempts to woo co-worker Lois Lane (Margot Kidder).

And if I could possibly add a suggestion if you are planning to do the second Superman movie could you make it the Richard Donner Cut? It helps cuz the version directed by Richard Lester was just not as good. It'll also make a whole lot of sense as you watch the movie and follow along with it and all. 2025-06-12 14:22:10 +0000 UTCThere is a documentary about Christopher Reeve that came out last year or this year I hear is really good. Also in regards to sequels there is Superman 2, and then 3 and 4, but the 2006 film ignores 3 and 4. In case you wanted more information. Also 3 and 4 are considered the worst of the series.
