Tutorial// Hair shading
Added 2020-10-24 12:21:28 +0000 UTCAfter requests I wanted to show you how I normally shade hair. I use a textured flat square brush to do this. The brush I used is in the Painters Max Pack brush set for procreate! My process is this:
1. Flats
2. Block in highlights
3. Colorpick base haircolor and paint back over the highlights
4. Block in shadows
5. Colorpick base haircolor and paint back over highlights AND colorpick the shades between the basecolor and shadows to create gradients
6. Add finishing touches to make the shading interesting and use a lineart brush to disrupt the shadows and highlights by simulating hairstrands.
Hope this was helpful to people! I also tried a different way of presenting my tutorial than usual since so many pictures + text can make a tutorial image look crammed.
