Hmm, for a while I thought that perhaps Rusty would turn out to be the unlikely voice of reason in this entire mess. Someone that is less spiteful than he seems. But now he seems like an ordinary asshat... with a death-wish. Darn...

It is closed, but it is now used as a travellers shelter. Rusty knows they can't simply walk back to Lulu's village.

I appreciate your honesty and I'm sorry this doesn't work for you. I knew this part will be a bit controversial and won't work for everyone. This is a bit heavy subject, but famous kidnappers were often able to use lies and guilt to coerce victims not to run away from them, sometimes for years. The younger and more vulnerable the child was, the easier it was to do so. Lulu already feels the whole situation is her fault since she feels she has lead Fireweed to the cabin. However, notice her hesitation; even in the last panel, she is still unsure.

It is important for the story that it was done this way, not simply by force. As for being able to walk through knee-deep snow...wait for it... (How do you know? ;-)

My suggestion for a simple fix would be : adopt the T&T timeline/ increase the time that has passed between encounters and heal his wounds. Then let him take her away by force. That guy got beaten to a pulp and has compound fractures in two limbs. There's no way he'd be walking through knee-deep snow only days later. Ask me how I know^^.

I wanted to wait until the colored page is up, because dialogue can change things a lot, but this feels off. First she does a complete 180 from wanting to save Thistle from Tempests rage to worrying about Tempest and thinking Thistle would abandon her because of a little tantrum ... and then she goes with Rusty whom she hates, fears and has less than zero reason to trust. I like the general idea, but reading this it feels like I've skipped a page. I mean, Lu stopping and running back to save Thistle was already stretching it a little, but it was a nice touch. But now thing s are getting weird. In my opinion there's only one thing a scared six y/o girl would do in this situation. Scream her lungs out and run like hell.

For a moment I was feeling some sympathy for Rust. But then there's this. The fact that he is taking advantage of her vulnerability and lying to get her to come, only to hurt Thistle... this is a reminder he really is the bad guy.

You gotta be absolutely kidding me! Rust manages to kidnap Lullaby twice in this story!? Come on! ...Reading this is going to become difficult for awhile, now.
