I do kinda hope they still punish her. I always loved those scene's where they are loved and somewhat rewarded yet still punished at the same time.

Her aunt also seemed like she wasn't interested in Lullaby so she wouldn't come to the middle of nowhere to search for her. Given how remote this location is whoever that is searched her out deliberately.
