It took me a few days to digest this one, but I kept coming back to it. The significance of that exchange... The young Lulu, and the older Thistle and Fizzle... Older, yes. More articulate, more experienced in matters of life. Yet the same basic behaviors. Lulu isn't the only one that doesn't always know how to deal with her situation. Fizzle has such practiced confidence. Fitting of a commander, I suppose. Thistle seems to carry with her a purity... inner peace? Or perhaps just the joy of the moment?
