Strongest in DxD - Chapter 32

"Teacher!" shouted Okita worriedly along with the other servants.

But Ren reached out his hand and the mist rose and the moment the weapons touched it the swords simply disappeared.

"Interesting" said Gilgamesh smiling as he saw his weapons disappear and noted that they had literally been moved to another dimension.

All the servants sighed in relief and when Gilgamesh looked down he saw a sword placed near his neck.

Turning his gaze downwards the King of Heroes (or Queen of Heroes?) saw Okita with his deadly cold gaze as his sword was one step away from digging into Gilgamesh's neck.

"What do you think you're mutt doing?" questioned Gilgamesh with his eyes closed.

"I'm asking you. What are you thinking of attacking the master?" asked Okita as she spoke coldly.

"Calm down Okita, she just did that to test me, you don't have to worry" Ren said calmly.

Okita reluctantly removed the sword from around Gilgamesh's neck and Gilgamesh smiled, in one swift movement she resheathed her sword while not taking her eyes off the golden servant.

Ren walked calmly towards the middle of the field as he was accompanied by two more servants.

When Ren stopped and turned around, the ones standing a few feet away from him were Scathach and Arturia.

The servants had drawn a lottery to see who would fight Ren and the two had ended up winning, and the Sekiryuutei saw no problem.

Deeper down Jalter grumbled for not having won and walked away with Okita, Gilgamesh and Semiramis so as not to get caught in the fight and to watch carefully.

"So will you fight unarmed master?" asked Scathach as he tapped his Gae Bolg spear lightly on his shoulder.

The Celtic Immortal Witch had trained several heroes throughout her life and therefore she recognized a warrior when she saw one.

And her master basically made that very clear.

Even though he looked relaxed, she could tell he was aware of every movement coming from them and was prepared to fight physically, which meant he was confident in his physical strength.

She could see the power and immense potential in her master's eyes.

The God Slayer couldn't help but smile at this, it reminded him of the brave warriors she'd already trained, and it made her feel strangely excited about the battle.

Ren smiled as he extended his right hand to the side and an intense holy light shone on Ren's right hand.

It wasn't an oppressive light that made everyone feel overwhelmed, but a cozy light, a light that varies you want to look, something that would make you feel as comfortable as if you saw a dear friend from a long time ago.

When the light disappeared it was revealed in Ren's hand a spear ornamented with a dark blue shaft and is longer than normal spears. It features gilded metal decorations in the shape of arrowheads that spiral in a double helix pattern. The decorations end at the top of the spear's shaft, which features a white circle, which is completely empty, and has a cross that fills it, but not completely. There is a small silver stump that has four protrusions, two on the left and the other two on the right. The boom tip is silver and similar to the boom shaft is longer than other types of booms.

That was the biggest "bug" of the Sacred Gear system of God, even among all the Sacred Gear that one in Ren's hand was unique, even among the Longinus that claimed to kill Gods.

It was the sacred spear that was blessed by the blood of Jesus Christ, the very Son of God becoming the most sacred weapon there is, a Holy Relic of faith and worship that could only be approached with the Holy Grail and Holy Cross.

It was the spear that represented the "Hopes and glory of humans" not unlike the holy sword of the planet Excalibur, a light that cleansed all evil and healed all believers in it.

Even among the mighty Longinus she was the strongest, first and last among the Longinus and the Sacred Gear that named this class.

It was the ultimate sacred spear to exterminate evil.

The Spear of Fate, the [True Longinus].

The moment the spear was summoned, an intense bright light emanated from it, covering the entire body of its bearer and also reaching the servants.

The great Heroic Spirits couldn't help but stare at the spear, it was as if they were seeing a dear person who finally returned to their arms.

To look into the light of the holy spear was to behold the glory, and that is what for a single second all the servants saw.

Scathach who saw herself training the brave warriors of Ulster, Arturia who saw herself commanding her Kingdom in its heyday, Okita who remembered her friends who fought with her, Jalter who remembered her childhood with her mother, Gilgamesh who remembered the time when he protected his kingdom with his friend Enkidu and Semiramis who remembered all the great events that marked his life.

This only lasted a second, and when they realized they were staring at Ren who was calmly holding the holy spear in his hand.

The spear glowed more faintly in what seemed to be joy at being in its master's hands.

"What is that?" questioned Arturia while they all agreed.

In that second, when they looked at the spear in Ren's hand, it didn't seem like an illusion, but rather the reality they lived through.

It was as if it were right, apart from the desire to look at the spear.

Ren smiled slightly, that was one of the very effects of the holy spear, which in some ways isn't that different from Excalibur's light.

While the Holy Sword meets everyone's desire, the Holy Lance possessed the desire of the Biblical God Himself, a being known for his unrivaled goodness.

"This one in my hand is my main Sacred Gear, the first and strongest among the Longinus, the spear that pierced Christ and was transformed into a Sacred Gear by God, the Holy Spear of Fate: [True Longinus]" said Ren calmly.

The spear seemed to glow and tremble with happiness at the announcement of being the main one of its master, as if it were very happy.

Everyone widened their eyes at that.

"So you were hiding it, in master," said Gilgamesh as he eyed the spear with interest.

After all, it was something very interesting and a treasure she didn't have.

Ren nodded before turning to Jalter who was staring at the spear: "Jalter I think you better look away, those who have a belief in God if you look at the Holy Lance have gone mad" said Ren calmly making the Dragon Witch look away.
