Using washable marker to pattern & washing all pieces
Added 2022-10-05 15:46:09 +0000 UTCSo we pattern the inside of the faces with Crayola washable marker and them wash before for the following reasons:
1. With so many projects flying around a small space, we don't want to risk getting Sharpie on their fur .
2.very rarely sharpie will bleed through the backing
3. Some parts of the neck and body are not lined and look cleaner if there isnt marking on them.
4. Helps release trapped seams
5. Tests durability of bodysuits
6. Washes the fur and removes small shavings.
So once everything's sewed, before gluing, you want to wash the face and ears. Here's how...
When washing the face and small bits put it in a pillowcase and tie up the end. Then throw it in the wash.
Settings
1. Cold water setting only, and not tap cold. Some people do not have cold tap water! Heat will ruin the fur.
2. Soil setting low
3. Setting delicate
4. 1/4 cap of "woolite" color safe detergent
5. Spin setting should be low or medium
Then once it's out you brush it every 15 minutes untill dry.
