Weekly talk 272
Added 2024-03-19 20:19:08 +0000 UTCHoy here we are here we go:
Workflow:
I almost manage to finish the Goblin maid comics today, but kinda liked it, so decided to not rush the end and i'll put an end to it tomorow morning.
then, HQ of November, then what?
The monthly in late, and might directly attack the December reward after.

A comics:
Wanna work on my comics. Been starting to take notes recently, more about the structure of how i would tackle it.
i think i would go, not for a LONG chapter things, like not like 20 pages stories.
more packed thing.
Would go for 4 panel sketch, following each others if i want to make a longer thing, but something quite simple. if i want a one page story, a one page story it is.
I.. kinda fear to get bored halfway, drop it and never touch it again. But i always wanna draw my girls, so. Kinda want to go into that.
Would be a CYOA thing, but when i struggle between two story, maybe i would put it to a vote.
So, what ll be my comics? Simple, Chaos Incorporated, Gnarby's company.
I started thinking we would actually be following Gily. As she step into this evil corporation, get sent to Gnarby, and how their relation would evolve over time.
I got ideas. Now i'm at the part when i try to structurate thing. i don't want to make me a rigid story structure and all, but at least a general direction, like where i start, where i end, and basic shenanigans happening in the way.
So, when? Well i don't want to rush myself. Did a few sketch of how i wanna set it. I wanna start around June. Basicly i give me 2 mont and an half to structurate the story, get myself some ideas and go with it.
For now Here is the major principle.
First "story arc" would be discovering Chaos Incorporated, how it run, what it does, some of the iconing characters. Would be by, inserting Gily in, then some sketch about sexy and all.
Idea would be that Gily is at first quite reluctant to "let herself go". So a bit a Discovering the universe and learn to blend in.
Second arc would be about X pantits product, creation marketing how they sell it, to whom. Why? Mostly to show in depht how the work is done.
From that it's a bit more blury, cause i got different ideas of what i wanna go with, but not sure if i wanna decide or just write different possibility and see when we're here where to pick? Some might come more organicaly.
So here it is, my personal project, been thinking of it for some times and some asked me about it, so here was my answer

The patreon paper
Ok, i did an article about what would happen if Patreon ban me and why i didn't moved out yet here.
But still peoples send me mail telling me patreon is the evil and i should come to suscribstar.
Let me tell it straigh.
Suscribstar, fanbox.. they ain't better than patreon.
those are all companies, that allow you to get support of your community, some accept different content, other refuse it. But in the end, those are still greedy companies, that don't care either for their creators or their suscribers
in the end, we all are only a line of budget, and they decide if this money we get them is worth the hassle or not.
And it's not by telling me "hey look, suscribstar allow you to draw women being raped and lolicon content" that you'll proove to me that they're the moraly acceptable society.
That said, i don't spit on Suscribstar, and once again, i created one. It's operational mostly, just dormant, cause i don't need it atm.
In the end, deciding to give me money through patreon or suscribstar, or fanbox, would be just deciding what money hungry capitalist overlord you wanna feed in the same time.
In the same way, i know sayin it here won't have any impact, i doubt more than 10 of you all read what i write X)
Thanks you btw =)
All i wanted to adress is that, yeah, patreon decided yet to add another layer of weirdness to all of this. I know it's only a question of corporate folks wanting to look progressive.. But asking for fictional characters giving consent is a serious lack of understanding a simple elements.
Fictional character can't give consent, cause giving consent need you to actually be living. A fictional character is a construct. It don't exist, what make it is as much the pen of the creator than the mind of the reader.
It's like asking your cupboard permission to open it doors cause you gonna look it inside, or asking consent to your PC before changing the processor.
So if they decide to fire me.. or any other creators because of this... so be it.
Will i find it stupid? yeah.
Will it still happen? yeah too.
Artist, live and die by the will of the few peoples that like their art. Never by the hand of big companies that take an hold on their creation.
Most artist die alone and forgoten when they get too old to o their art properly. I knew it when I decided to become an artist. Thousands of year of art history showed me what was the clear path most artist walked.
I decided to walk it anyway.
So be it here, on suscribstar, fanbox, my own site, in the end, all that matter is how far i can go. And how many of you would want to walk a bit at my side if they can.

That's about it, thanks for those who read it this far
and c ya soon!

Ah I see. Got it. And hiring someone to set that up for you would cost you a lot upfront. Quite the dilemma, I understand

2024-03-20 12:32:51 +0000 UTCWell, knowing code is a start X) You got to have payment solution, like a internet bank or any provider of sorts to transfer the money from your site You got to have the structure, keep the server. So it often means, or know what to do, or have someone doing it for you. Badicly, it's running any site, plus you add the whole "got to find a way to make the money come from internet to my bank account, in a secure way" Site like patreon or suscribstar kinda cover the site and the means, reason why they're popular.

2024-03-20 12:32:08 +0000 UTCTotally agree. They just want their money. It's a shame they can't just let people create. I like your art so I would follow you to a different site. But like you I would put it off as long as possible. Life is too much hassle.
