If I put on my tinfoil hat and squint at "Purple Thunder" real hard---it could be a nod to the rise of the False Messiah. Purple is scripturally symbolic of royalty and authority like the wealthy man in Jesus' story in Luke 16:19 or when the Roman soldiers gave Jesus a false coronation by clothing Him in purple in Mark 15:17. The color purple is also linked to the Whore of Babylon in Revelation 17:4, signifying religious and political power. The "Thunder" could be Revelation 8:5 where the angel fills the censer with fire from the altar, casting it to earth and there were "peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake". It wouldn't be much of a jump to say that the trumpets being blown at the opening of the seals are like thunder as well.
