Everyone is WRONG About Lolita - Early Access

One of the cruelest pranks pulled by general society is convincing survivors of abuse that Vladimir Nabokov's 'Lolita' is a subversive critique of child predators, when that simply doesn't line up with the evidence, including the author's own declared intent.

My biggest problems with the movie adaptations is that they portray the 40 something year-old men as the victims.... when Lolita is 13. So gross.

I am glad to see some new discourse in YT about Lolita. Last I checked, vodeo essays mostly revolved around its impact on Americana and the film adaptions. Leaving my thoughts in a reply. Feedback: The citation around 11:00 is misleading. This quote was written and published in as afterword, "On a book entitled Lolita", from 1956, but the subtitle "Nabokov, 1991" looks as if Nabokov was quoted writing this in 1991. I would suggest displaying tbe title and date of the essay in addition to citation for the annotated edition. "Dilettante" is pronounced "dill-et-aunt", not "dial-it-ant".
