There are similarities between Norse, Japanese, and Chinese mythology. For example, hulders are known not only for having cow tails, but also fox tails and lynx tails. They could also marry humans and have children, but they would always be drawn to nature and could not be tamed. As said before, in my universe there are truths to the folklores, but no single story or creature from folklore is entirely true—there is usually a combination or a twist.
