Discord Assignment the 4th - Week 1

It's time for another one of these so I'll just get out the way and let the decidedly lovely patron that organises these give the introduction. There's also some additional input from the patron's equally lovely assistant (who is also a patron).  

It’s hard to believe it’s time already - the year’s just flown by, hasn’t it? That said, it wouldn’t be right for us to go into 2022 without celebrating our community with our 4th Annual Discord Assignment, would it now?!

Long-time members of the discord will likely remember the way we did this in previous years, but since we have some new voices and faces I’ll give a quick explanation of what this event even is about: as a way to give something back to a wonderful community yours truly has paid for a custom assignment to be added to the game (and another very generous patron has allotted funds for a custom commission to go with it!), but what this assignment will be like is entirely up to the people! If you can see this post, you are absolutely invited to join in!

Through a few rounds of patreon polls accessible only to the people on the discord tier or above, we will select where this assignment will take place, what theme it should (loosely) feature, and then over a few weeks we will be accepting general, low-detail prompts from everyone who is eligible to join and wants to do so! When that is done, we will all vote on our favourite prompts, with the winners passing on to the second round of prompt voting… but unlike previous years, we’ll have a week or two to let everyone - not just the people who came up with them initially! - develop these prompts before that final showdown, so we can truly pick the favourite through another poll - and when we have a final winner, we’ll all discuss what the custom commission that’d go with the winning prompt would look like!

There will be two accompanying polls to this post, one of them to vote on the location the prompts will have to be set in, and one to decide on a theme that has to at least be tangentially featured in every prompt.

Hopefully this explains what we want to achieve, but if there are any questions whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to ask them either in a comment under this post or, preferably, by joining us on the No Haven discord server. We even have a special channel for this! One word of warning, however: Bedlam reserves the right to veto any part of the process and any prompt that wouldn’t fit the game. We’ll go into further detail regarding this when we arrive at the prompt-stage.

This’ll be a months-long process, but we are very excited to see what our server can come up with. Thank you all to everyone who chooses to join in, and we can’t wait to kick off

For those that want more history these led to the Arisin' and Little Demon, Big City assignments. Two assignments I'm really pleased with how they came out. There's also For Want of a Hoe which is currently in the queue of commissions that will also be assignments in order they got done. 

As they want to do two polls at once the theme one will be done here, and the region where the assignments takes place will be on the discord channel. For once it won't just be in #polls-and-simillar-amusements where emotes do battle.
