2022-07-16 18:35:58 +0000 UTCI'm super happy that this finally released; the game's definitely amazing so far! What platform did you use to make it? I'm super curious how the stuff like the image insets and stat checks work! Just a few comments: sometimes the animations feel like they take a long time to get through, especially when navigating the main menu and going from the archive and profile screens back to the home screen. Loading into a checkpoint also takes a bit long; would speeding up the animations just a bit be possible? Also, I agree with a previous commenter; as someone who's trying to track down all the bad ends for reasons, it feels a bit bad to accidentally pass a stat check and miss a unique ending. For example, I know I tried to instantly fail the brain drainer path at the very beginning, only for me to accidentally pass due to the addition of the Knowledge check. This means that I have to keep in mind what stats are necessary in parts so I can pick the ones that will get me to fail, rather than getting the right stats so I can succeed. There is the matter of run quality, but I'm not quite sure what an uncorrupted run actually does, since I've been trying to get every ending possible. I do absolutely adore this game though; I've always wanted to make a VN like this with an endless line of debauchery and mind manipulation, and this is definitely something I aspire to live up to later! Definitely enjoyed my time with it so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing the other routes when they come out.

I think the main difference between Kabu and Memory Leak is that Kabu was a game and Memory Leak is a visual novel (with some very light 'game' elements). So for me I think of them in those contexts. Games and novel reward the viewer very differently. The reward of reading a novel is just enjoying a story. That said I certainly understand wanting more art and visuals (it is a 'visual' novel after all) and that's something that can easily be added and considered in future updates. Thanks for the feedback!

Having collected.. at least going by the archive, most of the scenarios on the meat market path, I wanted to give you some feedback on the experience. [Light Spoilers] While I appreciate the release is going more towards the Notes From The Cape /& original WBB game loop than Cape Kabu, it felt throughout my various runs like there was a lack of artwork as a visual reward for progressing or finding a route for a specific encounter. Finding different background artwork locations and past game character cameo's was entertaining, but more insert images? such as when the viral worm appears and the auction scene outfits would have broken up the text in other locations somewhat to go along with the descriptions of what was happening during events of the play though. During DiMarco's room for example when he's adjusting Willy would have been a prime example as a reward for going this path rather than the alternative market location > storage room etc. While it possibly can't be helped due to the narrative, it also felt slightly unrewarding to obtain the vast majority of the games images by essentially backtracking and finding combinations of wrong choices. In comparison, the Cape Kabu loop of being frequently rewarded with outfit pictures by mastering the game and playing well, or the 2nd WBB release of being rewarded by solving puzzles was missing here. Maybe this was all an intentional design choice and the game philosophy curve ball was that you succeed by not being horny throughout the game? ww The soundtrack choice was okay, there was a few synthwave bangers, though not quite as slap worthy as the story mode of CK but it matches the aesthetic so can't really fault it. A QOL addition would be having your chosen character traits pop up when you hover over the symbols in the bottom right, as it's quite easy to forget which relates to which after multiple restarts. I'm looking forward to seeing a new scenario, as perhaps playing the meat market in the preview for multiple hours already had fatigued me by this point, but some of the adjustments mentioned above in the core loop would be a welcome addition. Congratulations again on getting to release and the hardwork of yourself and all others involved in it's production x
