New Studio Space!

Thank you again for hanging in there while I get settled into the new house. I don't have any wips to legally share at the moment, but I do have some exciting stuff in the works. I majorly lucked out with the house I'm going to be renting, as it is 1) very old and beautiful 2) huge, and 3) suspiciously affordable. It was originally a turreted stucco mansion built in 1872 by some Victorian big-wig, but has since been divided into two townhouses back in 2010. My side has all the modern upgrades that a regular person needs, except for the third floor, which is largely unfinished. There are three large rooms up there-- all original flooring and paneled walls-- but no heat, cooling, or electricity save for two light bulbs in the ceiling.

(these pictures are terrible, but you get the idea)
That whole huge third floor was just going to be storage (and maybe a glorified walk-in closet), but I had the dawning realization the other day that I can use at least one of the rooms for something better: an art studio. Right now, I do all of my digital work at my regular old computer desk, which, between two monitors, keyboard, tower, mic, draft lamp, etc, is extremely cramped and not at all a suitable place for traditional illustration-- something that I've been desperately missing.
So, I am personally super excited to say how much I'm looking forward to curating a special space for me to just draw and paint. It's definitely going to take some time and work (a process that you guys might be interested in seeing?), and probably some finagling to get it comfortable enough, but it's going to be great. Plus, with the edges of the major burnout I was going through following that unending barrage of bad news for creators (NFTs, AI influx, studio layoffs, etc) finally rounding out, I'm feeling extremely positive and motivated-- my drive to draw is immense.
I can't wait to get settled so I can do some ART! Woo!
