Commission

Two in one day! I also wanted to post a commission I did recently of two OC siblings for a DnD campaign. They're half-dragonborns; a samurai and a cleric, if I remember correctly. 

Angel Time-lapse

Here's a little time-lapse that started as a sketch in my Moleskine and moved onto Procreate to finish. You can tell I'm still torn between rougher textured pencils/brushes and the smoother ones that I use for more realistic work. I unded up using Kyle T's "fountain of yoots" inker for the line work and "gouache a go go" to color.

New Studio Space!

Hello everyone! 

Thank you again for hanging in there while I get settled into the new house. I don't have any wips to legally share at the moment, but I do have some exciting stuff in the works. I majorly lucked out with the house I'm going to be renting, as it is 1) very old and beautiful 2) huge, and 3) suspiciously affordable. It was originally a turreted stucco mansion built in 1872 by some Victorian big-wig, but has since been divided into two townhouses back in 2010...

Here's a commission I've been working on of some FFXIV ocs on a horse, as well as two little doodles of dnd characters you that guys might recognize (Ainim has gone through 3000 redesigns at this point lol).

I haven't done many XIV commissions in a while. It was fun :)

Turns out I actually have no idea what I want to do with these two. I wanted to go over the top with decoration on their clothing, but don't actually know what tools I want to go about coloring them with. I may end up just redrawing them in a simpler style in pencil or something first... that usually helps me get around a road block. Hmmm...

I wanted to make a romantic drawing of two medieval court ladies, but my hand slipped and now they are sort of monstrous. Alas.

Ainim WIP

Hello! Thank you all so much for continuing to support me. I can't even begin to express my gratitude. Now that the semester is over, I should be able to post a bit more frequently :') 

In my recent downtime, I've continued to work on this little drawing I've been doing of my necromancer oc, Ainim. I believe I talked about it in my last post, but I'm trying to recapture my "natural" way of drawing and coloring, as if I'm using real ink, chalk, and pencils instead of digital brushes...

I've been using Clip Studio for the majority of my artwork for the last couple of years, mostly because I enjoyed the look and function of their default gouaches. Berrox the Knife

Hello! This week I wanted to share my D&D oc for a super fun homebrew campaign that I've been partaking in for the last several weeks:

"Berrox the Knife is a rock gnome battle master, about 3'4", 220 years old, and has a thinly-veiled penchant for bloodlust. I took a little thumbnail sketch and am turning it into an experimental illustration in procreate. I'm using the jens classen's pencil brush for the linework and the default oil brush to paint :) I plan on continuing with it tonight.

Some more random props I've been working on. I wasn't going to bother coloring them at first, because I have a tendency to overwork things- thereby making myself miserable over how long it takes me to "complete" a drawing. But I'm working hard at practicing restraint, and wound up with these nice flats. I'm pretty happy with them :')

Adz

Doodle of Adzael, the elven blood hunter druid for one of my sibling's D&D campaigns. I really enjoy drawing him for some reason, and have probably drawn him more than my own recent original characters at this point. He's just cool, I guess.

Anyway, I believe he was done in about two hours total over the course of a couple days... here's the finished version:

I've been cooling down after work for the last week or so by designing weapons for mine and my friends' dnd campaigns. Here's two swords that I finished last night. I'm aiming to have a bunch done in the upcoming weeks, and I'm looking forward to sharing.

The black and gold sword doesn't have any fancy backstory yet, but the pearly white one belongs to an elven druid who's been killed and reanimated by a void-dwelling demigoddess. Fun stuff :')

I regret to inform everyone that I realized Tower's place of being gets *really*, REALLY cold, and that unfortunately he'll have to cover himself up with a doublet and cloak in the winter. A sad day.

Other than that, here's some little bits I've doodled over the last couple of weeks (primarily some DND characters and me trying to suss out whatever tf Tower looks like and what style I'd like to draw this whole story in).

I love being painfully inconsistent

with my style while trying to figure out what my own stupid characters look like lol. I started working again a few days after surgery last Thursday, and it's been slow-going. I don't feel totally awful, but I'm definitely not used to having to slow down so much, especially for something that seems as simple as fixing a deviated septum. A chunky doodle painting experiment of my OC, Winifred of the Hearth. She is called upon by the goddess of the sun after completing a small fire incantation circle found at the back of her family record. 

PS- I've been drawing in my sketchbook a lot lately (mostly Wini and her co-characters), so I'm hoping to post some scans in the next few days (once I'm done recovering from surgery and can safely bend over lol).

Here's a little time-lapse of the rough sketch and linework for a commission I'm currently working on of a warrior of light ^^ 

For these types of commissions, I always do roughs and some simple linework, and then use a handful of layers with the base colors clipped to one solid shape (the light grey below) to keep things organized in the interim.

I was looking through my archive and found this fairly old drawing, which I don't think I've ever shared. It was the first thing I ever drew on procreate while figuring out all the different brushes and things. I still like it quite a bit... I'd love to redraw it and see what it looks like a couple years later >.>

pencil test

I wanted to see if I could replicate real pencil drawing using the default pencil on Clip Studio, and I think it worked out pretty well! The character is an original from a personal project. Hopefully he'll be turning up a lot more often :')
