Cape Kabu, Story mode update!

Finally! The story mode update is available to play! Folks with PC can download it from the file below, the mac file is larger so you'll have to DL it from here instead (mac link).
It's got a hilarious script by Gerrark (who also wrote Notes from the Cape and WBB2). This first update is just Chapter one, we're hoping to have six chapters total by the time it's all done. I'll also be adding more characters and galleries to the default game in the future, and that includes doing patron contests as well!
If you encounter any glitches please mention them below! And thanks for your patience as we put together this latest update! ✌️

It should just run! I don't have mac but on win if i have issues with permissions it's due to the OS. I will check around and see if other have had this issue and if I find anything I'll post it here. ✌️

2021-06-10 18:15:44 +0000 UTCI'm on a Mac and tried to play the game but it tells me I don't have permission to open the file. I'm the only person who uses my laptop and I've checked the permissions to make sure they're all granted. Is there a specific program I need to play the game or something?

That is a semi-common occurrence, it just happens sometimes, especially if I click around or fast forward things at certain times. It seems to be an issue with the engine i used to make it tbh 😭 but I'm also always trying to tighten things up that could cause that kind of glitch, so thanks for mentioning it! And for supporting too! ✌️

2021-05-24 16:39:24 +0000 UTCPlayed through story mode with no issue! Though now I'm back in regular gameplay against Dark Willy and his character didn't load. Continued to play when DW got 3 strikes which should have loaded his next character image but instead the game just didn't do anything. Stayed like that until I hit the control button

TBH i did leave it very vague and game-like just bc I wasn't sure I wanted to really add a lot of story or context to that aspect as I was making it. in story mode their clothes just fly right off for no reason and no one really acknowledges it or talks about it lmao

2021-05-20 18:32:30 +0000 UTCI was really hoping there was gonna be some in universe lore for why the loser has to pose for a pinup. It would make consecutive battles with the same character more impactful, like if you know after 3 losses they have to cough up a pose for you

2021-05-19 15:32:07 +0000 UTCAfter continued gameplay I've also had it happen during a gambit. My card was a nine, I drew another nine but it changed the tally to eight and then automatically drew another card and lost me the gambit.

Also was a change made to the parry phase (aside from being able to make a decision on each card) because there were two instances so far where the first card flipped, followed by the second which is the same number, and then they suddenly combine and I'm still left with two other cards for a total of four during parry? Was this an intentional change?

2021-05-18 16:09:13 +0000 UTCBeen playing the updates since January-ish and ended up with my own strategies for winning, so the inclusion of "card sense" was surprisingly refreshing and love that it's completely optional! You aren't forced to use it to win but it definitely helps for some clutch Gambit/Counter plays right now. Looking forward to more in the future!
