Gameplan for full-time YouTubing

Forgive the low-end formatting. I’m writing this on mobile instead of a desktop.

I don’t get a lot of engagement on Patreon posts, and I think that’s because those of you who do read them do so straight from your email. This one time, I’m going to ask you guys to log in and comment some feedback. I need the input.

As a lot of you know by now, I put in my notice at work. My last day of normal employment as a cartographer will be Dec 16, just after my 31st birthday.

This will obviously be a huge shift for me, since my income will come entirely from YouTube, Patreon, trading, dividends, and sponsorships. This is a little bit scary, but also very exciting.

To get the most out of YouTube, and also to make sure the viewers I care about the most (you guys) are on board with my production plan, I’m running it by you here.

YouTube Content

I am planning on 4 videos each month initially. I can probably increase that further, but this is a lifestyle change and I don’t want to be overwhelmed up front. Each month:

Week 1) Dank Trades from prior month

Week 2) Freeloader Challenge

Week 3) Free, will usually be a trade strategy, risk management, portfolio structuring, or response to current events

Week 4) Rh $3K Challenge

I plan on trying to integrate a couple livestreams on YouTube each month. YouTube livestreams will be finance-focused.

I’ll do some Twitch streaming on occasion, but my audience isn’t really there, and as long as the content is finance-related, I’d probably be better off on YouTube. When I use Twitch, I’m thinking it’ll be a “chill” time, and maybe just talk finance while gaming or something to that effect.

Discord

I miss our voice chats from the spring of 2020 when none of us were going to work and we could just focus on trading. I’d like yo do that again sometimes since there is practically no one in my personal life that I can talk shop with.

I don’t think it’s worth trying to schedule times for such chats. I think that the best approach would be to just join Patreon chat when I am sitting there editing videos or trading to see who is available.

Of course, all of you can use the voice chat channels whenever you want to. I don’t have to be part of the conversation.

Patreon

I’d like to find ways to do more to incentivize the people in higher tiers. Right now, Legate, Centurion, and Lancer are all basically the same except for Legates having dibs on the next Patreon post topic, which they never use.

I haven’t thought of many ways to do this because it all feels artificial to produce content and then box out most of my supporters from it. If you guys have ideas, I’m all ears.

Patreon content will be more frequent since it’ll make up a larger proportion of my income without my day job. I’ve got to find more ways to keep everyone satisfied with the posts, so please do provide some input on what you’d like to see.

The way ahead

There are still a few things I want to do that I haven’t forgotten about.

- Theta Gang REIT

- Meetup cruise

- Boomer’s stock/crypto club

- Powercow’s L33t group

Let me know what thoughts you guys have. I’m really looking forward to getting the ball moved downfield in a month.

Discord voice chats are solid I have loved the few we did. Doing something for the different tiers would be cool I understand having a separate chat room for patreons but dividing it more than that may create issues. with the number of threads/ rooms on the discord... you don't really ever want the discord to be DRY unless of course its like 3am. I am in two discords this and a skiing discord. 4 videos and one live stream a month is a good start! I really really would like to see a trading tournament. Obviously we all have different account sizes so we would have to measure by %gain over a set period of time to see who will be crowned the KING TRADER. Can you make my name orange in the discord PLEASE! And finally a meet up would be legendary however I know not everyone would be able to afford it or want to expose their identity but I have no issue with it I met up with Chemmie for lunch in Cali and had a great time. for patreon subscribers different tiers maybe can do a 1 on 1 video call with you once every quarter or something idk, you could break patreon tiers into teams and have a competition between teams. I think the most important thing is to seek feedback and always do your best to improve. GOD SPEED YOU RETARD <3
