Weekly update

Hey all - I wanted to give a quick update on everything going on with writing and life.

So first - thanks to all who reached out and prayed. I'm going to share some heavy stuff that is starting to get better but isn't there just yet.

Obviously it's a bit private and personal but I'm a believer in sharing things like this only to help others who might get caught in it also or know someone.

Many years ago when one of my sons was 15, an older girl did things physically he wasn't mentally / emotionally / relationally ready for. It caused him a lot of pain and trauma but I thought we had moved past after working through. It turns out she had reached out multiple times over the years and she then started seeing him once he left home for college. Things took a major turn for the worst this year after he told us they were dating and we saw so many warning signs of very dangerous behaviors / changes.

He became depressed, felt trapped, was isolated from all his friends and even from his older brother who has been a close friend all his life. My wife and I started to hear things from my sons friend, our older son and even our son that made our blood go cold.

Last week I went down to where he lives and went for broke. I spoke at length the dangerous of the relationship, the psychological stuff, and simply how we missed him and the changes we saw. One day he would be ready to make a change, the next he was back to the old way. So last night we had a sit down with him, her, myself, my wife and a counselor . To say it was crazy and insane to hear the one speak how she wasn't aware of anything she was doing was beyond mind blowing.

Still my saw for the first time how she was in some ways. He is still struggling to get free but we have multiple counseling sessions setup for him and over the next month are taking great strides to keep them apart for a month to help break the addiction/cycle that relationship has.

It's been a huge stress the last few months on top of the rest of life with my mom, wife, and son with seizures but I feel there is a light ahead.

Ul2 - I'm about 40k in book 1. It's been a relief / soothing thing for me to write this. It's hard in some ways as I try to walk a line between what I want the story to be and what I feel it needs to be. One can easily go to far one direction and I want to keep it what I feel the story is. Will be a few more PoV of the others in party but in the end, we'll see if everyone likes it or not.

Viking- I wrote half a chapter but I couldn't get my heart around it and didn't wana write bad words. I'm working on it. Have an outline, just need to get head clear to write this. One would think when frustrated that vikings / dwarves and combat would be easy... but it's not...

Timeloop - it's done / in edits for first 120k (is like 170k words). Probably launch in August. Need to eventually get to book 2 but yeah - lots of stuff to do and don't want to get too deep on thirty things.

Daughters Story - REALLY trying to get all of it finished this july. Honestly best worldbuilding in any story ever I've been a part of. Ready to show when done and then get on amazon so she can start working on book 2.

Other than that, thanks again and I can't wait for august!
