Book 7 state
Added 2025-02-23 18:26:44 +0000 UTCSo I’ve been trying to stay up to date on story comments. Been a little distracted on lifes end with wife and house flooding this week when a pipe burst due to the 15 degree temps.
We’re fine and doing ok. Got a few more weeks before everything hopefully returns to normal.
Book 7 - I know some like and don’t like the current pace. For those that don’t I’m sorry if it’s killing the story you love.
I promise that book 8 and 9 have a lot more fighting. Chapters are coming where some will take place in book 7. We’ll see the ssctificing of 10 tower levels for 2.5% perm stat gains and then the refarming of those level (for a total of 12.5% stat points per 10 tower floor levels).
I didn’t do the “grind” for every floor as only a few parts I felt were needed to be seen/shown.
Book 7 will end with the wedding of Batrire and Fowl (well perhaps a little more after but thats the big ending).
Crafting will happen.
A lot of things coming both story and system wise.
Everyone who is through book 8 and into book 9 would tell you the same - book 7 puts things into place for what’s down the road.
If there are specific questions story wise - ask them here and I’ll get to them.

It's the authors story and I am enjoying the surprise, the mundane, the excitement, the grind, etc. Gogogo! But I support the fact that we r paying for a privilege here too and hope people will have mostly constructive things to comment on.

Just know - our action packed Max returns and will dance along that line of humanity and darkness. For a year and all he’s overcome - somethings coming which will make him let go.

2025-02-23 22:51:28 +0000 UTCIt’s not that it bothers me. Everyone has a preference. My biggest thing is delivering on the story i promised. I really am writing the story the way I felt it had to happen for what is coming next. Similar to early books and small moments (big buns baked goods, Sam’s book shop, etc) they all had a reason. Book 8 had a really strong/hard ending similar to book 5. Book 9 starts action packed and the pace is going to go similar to book 6. In the end - I’m grateful to everyone and their opinions. It helps me improve and I want to make sure everyone knows I’m reading and trying to take opinions and apply when possible

Both political and deeply personal Y’all complaining about the pace should consider more thoroughly what really works in the stories that you’ve read. The ones you’ve re-read vs the saccharine surface level reads Also, the serial format may not be for you. Blasting through this all at once won’t feel slow at all

2025-02-23 21:14:49 +0000 UTCSeth… Do you have any intentions of having Max crafting a dwarf spear for Fowl….which is to say a special suit of armor that can be locked into place making Fowl completely rigid…with a helm that is topped with a dragons tooth… That Max will then use with all his special skills like power strike and ghost strike and magical strike….to launch fowl using his spear handling skills…to stop some big bad tower boss?

Web serials suffer this complex of needing some gratification daily, but you can weave a better story if you put in a little world building and character time. Keep up the good work.
