Weekly update

I’m actually in Utah on a writing trip. Wife sent me away for a week so i could focus on writing. Did 10,000+ words yesteday and I’ve got 2 chapters done so far this morning. Really trying to get some serious words in so I can give a little love to my other stories as well.
Even better news - Thursday I get to attend Brandon Sanderson’s lectures he does. I sent an email asking of I could join and was given permission! Super excited about that.
Also before I get into my story stuff, the beta stuff I sent out last week, that story is live on Royal Road.

Ok - book 8 is almost to 100k words. Really hitting it hard this week as I want to finish it and have a breather to get a little writing on 2 other stories.
Good news is the feedback from beta readers is good. Its the same group that loved book 6 and 7.
I know book 7 is a different pace but trust me, I really have a grand plan for all this (after book 9 and next series / stage - super pumped). Also your comments are gold. I love reading the “what ifs”
Dont’t worry, I’m not going to follow some standard tropes. We’re blazing a new path here.

Hope ur enjoying Uteland out yonder and BS’s P3 plot theory chat (don’t forget the cliffless ‘payoff’😁) is as awesome as can be on Thor’s day (i’m ordering couple copies of his Warbreaker book today)! One recent UL1 story note on something bit prickly that’s been buggin my minds eye. I’m not all caught up here yet but some of the chapters i’ve been recently reading have Max openly referring to his bound Demonlord buddy by his full name…publicly. As you know, with demonic lore, full knowledge of a demon’s name can give power over said demon…which is why, some months back, Sog’thollech specifically asked Max to swear that he would not share it with anyone. Max gave his word he would not share Sog’s name…yet fast forward a bit and he starts to full name drop in front of others who clearly have no need to know. At first I figured, well…ok, he is gonna kill the powerful evil elven human skill sucking princess…but chapters after that he refers to him again by full name in front of friendlies whom he should not. Feels like a betrayal of trust and his word, which had previously been important to him to keep…to the point of foolish behavior at times. Why the disconnect here? Was inadvertent? Figure so. Sorry should have written something sooner. Perhaps an easy fix would be to change such references to the short form, something like just Sog, as i did earlier? Still would be a bit in the gray area for keeping his word, but at least would not be as overtly obvious disrespect to a future demon Archon/Overlord for anyone reading thru this in more complete book form. My two cents. Thanks for keeping story floating towards its conclusion, however many books it takes (and thanks for not doing the GRRM thing where you leave the final books forever unfinished with author promises made which sadly will not be kept).
