All four nodded, sensing that somewhere, someone had been spying on them. Even though none of them bore any expressions, the room turned darker, a hint of red almost seeming to radiate off their bodies.
"It appears all i could do was delay the release of the chapter for today by a few minutes. Someone out there is far more powerful than we have imagined."
"But who? None of the true ancients are still around. Could Shawn Wilson still be doing what he does? Didn't we put a stop to him?"
"If only... all we can hope for is his fingers to get old and lose their magical touch."
A communal grunt came as the five, realizing they lacked the ability to stop the one they all knew had the true power, returned to the monitoring of the worlds and systems they were over.
