I walk without a trace of the gravity the trip came with months ago. No one asks my business as I climb the stairs; my running in and out of the Den Head's office has become a common sight to everyone.

"Go ahead," Nakon's attendant, Takeni, says as I pause at her desk. Her blue eyes barely glance up at me, preoccupied no doubt with organizing whatever's next in our Head's chaotic schedule. She taps a magical charm on the arm of her wheeled chair, and the invisible barrier to the corridor ahead shimmers into view, then parts. She brushes a strand of her dark hair behind her ear and waves me on in one fluid movement.

"How's the mood in there today?" I ask, wanting to know what I'm about to walk into.
"Are there suncakes waiting for me in there?" I ask hopefully.
I nod and head straight in.
