While I think the overall quality is outstanding, I sometimes feel that in some parts the drums are not at the level of the rest of the musicians. They don't have so much variance and when guitar parts repeat the drums just repeat the part as well, which I think is a missed opportunity to avoid repetition by some alternation. This especially strikes me in the starting riff of "Violent Shadows", 4 bars same riff, conclusion, then 4 bars exactly the same again. Stuff like that feels odd to me and I would expect at least one instrument to do something differently (in this case the drums). Hope I am not coming across as negative, as I said, overall I think it is a very good BG album. Just feel a bit of a lack of drum alternation and variety in the album. Like when looking at Imagination From The Other Side, the drums elevated the repetition of parts by always subdividing many bars into subsection, each with their own nuance (a lot of people compare the current album to IFTOS).
Still, as I said, overall GREAT album.
